The students from Years12 and 13 left for London on Monday morning where they are enjoying the cultural opportunities offered by the city. We have been organising this trip for several years now and we think it’s a great opportunity for them to broaden their horizons and to relate their studies with the world around them.
Year 11 are also traveling but to Madrid. This cultural trip is intended tie in with their Spanish history and literature classes. They will cover a good deal of the modern history of Spain visiting, among other places, the Royal Palace, the Spanish parliament and the Prado Museum. They will also have guided tours through “Literary Madrid” and “Madrid of the Austrias”.
Finally, our Year 10 students have taken advantage of this week to discover Seville, one of the most culturally vibrant cities in Spain. On the trip they will have guided visits to the Alcazar, the Cathedral, the Dueñas Palace and the Archivo de Indias. They will also visit the Barrio de Santa Cruz and have a boat trip on the Guadalquivir.
We are sure they are all having a great time, wish them a safe journey and would like to thank all the teachers who have organised, and are accompanying them, on the trips.
